Message from the President

As we enter the summer months, it is also important to acknowledge Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, celebrating Her Majesty’s 70 years of reign and honouring Her legacy of public service. She is Canada’s longest reigning Sovereign and the first to celebrate a platinum jubilee. To mark this historic milestone, a series of initiatives are taking place throughout Canada to honour The Queen’s service and dedication to this country and celebrate Canadian achievements of the last 7 decades. These initiatives include commemorative coins, stamps and educational activities. Alberta has also established awards and scholarships to recognize young Albertans who are leaders in their communities and in the arts. These would replace the Golden Jubilee awards established in 2002 and increase monetary prizes to $7,000. Additional provincial initiatives include: The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Citizenship Award; The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Scholarships for Visual and Performing Arts; and The Premier’s Citizenship Award in Recognition of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. As the Federal Government has decided not to issue a commemorative medal, Alberta is establishing a one-time Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal to recognize 7,000 Albertans who have made significant contributions to society. Please see the links below and watch for additional news. RAUSI is a Canadian-based forum for global civilians, humanitarian, military and international police communities to present original thought on trending issues, in their formative stages, as they relate to global security and defence. Formed in 1920 as a think tank, RAUSI later evolved into a service organization for veterans in the decades following the World Wars. In this new era, RAUSI has evolved back into a think tank, publishing original content, curating extant articles, and sponsoring speaker’s symposia which amplify cross-disciplined models of 21st century security and defence. |
