Making of the Mural – A Mosaic of Calgary’s and Canada’s Military History and Legacy

Many visitors to The Military Museums in Calgary are immediately drawn to the Mural of Honour in the Queen Elizabeth II Atrium. This striking installation tells the stories of Calgary’s and Canada’s military service, but few know the history behind its creation.

Join Karen Storwick, Director of the Mural of Honour and Vice President of the Royal Alberta United Services Institute (RAUSI), as she shares the story behind one of The Military Museums’ most significant features. Karen will discuss how the Mural came to be, its development over the years, and the people and events it commemorates.

Hosted by the Heritage and History Subcommittee of Calgary Salutes, in partnership with The Military Museums, this presentation offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of the Mural and the military history and legacy it preserves.
