With small population centres and limited infrastructure, Canada rightly exerts its influence and sovereignty in the Arctic on a continual basis, through several initiatives. However, with climate change allowing increased maritime access to Canada’s Arctic region, RAUSI believes it is prudent to review Canada’s current posture and its ongoing work with the Arctic Council. In the coming weeks, we will contrast these efforts with those of other Arctic and near-Arctic nations.
