About the Presenter
Major the Reverend Andrew Cameron is a Presbyterian minister serving as a chaplain (padre) with the Canadian Armed Forces. During his 24 year military career, he first served as an infantryman with the Third Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Regiment in Edmonton. During that time he completed one tour to Bosnia and two tours to Afghanistan.
After a decade of service, Andrew discerned that God was calling to him serve in another capacity. He left the Regiment in order to complete a Master of Divinity degree at McGill University and Presbyterian College seminary in Montreal and then was ordained and worked as a pastor in a church for two years to gain necessary and valuable experience.
Andrew began his career as a padre in 2013 at the Canadian Forces Leader and Recruit School (CFLRS) in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. He has been posted to CFB Borden, CFB Valcartier and was recently promoted to the rank of Major and posted to CFB Bagotville.
Andrew is married to Jane, a civilian educator and instructor employed with the Canadian Forces Training Development Centre (CFTDC), and is the stepfather to two wonderful children. His hobbies include fitness, archery, and hunting.
This presentation is part of the RAUSI Lunch & Learn series, providing an educational and social opportunity four times a year.
